Some love stories are written in the stars, and Agatha and Anthony’s journey is a perfect example of that. Their love story began way back in high school, where they were friends long before they became a couple. Over the years, destiny kept bringing them back together, almost as if the universe had a plan for them. In 2018, their friendship took a beautiful turn into something more after reconnecting on a dating app. It was fate that brought Anthony into Agatha’s one-mile radius on Bumble, even though he lived much further away. Their first date was so magical that Agatha had to put her plans of moving to Colorado on hold. She knew she had to see where this connection would lead. We could not be more excited to share the details of this elegant wedding at the Chez Hotel.
Heartfelt Reflections
Agatha: “I have never met anyone so completely selfless and committed to making others happy. It’s not just towards me. I saw how he treated my parents, grandparents, friends, and even coworkers. I knew guys like Anthony just do not come around often. He pours his heart into every little thing he does. He spends countless hours handmaking gifts, leaving notes for me on the bathroom mirror, and hand drawing my birthday cards. He’s always trying to make me laugh literally all day long. (Once, I was so sad that a lemon tree I have been growing for literally 4 years was dying, he zip-tied multiple lemons to it and didn’t say anything for days until I noticed!). It wasn’t any large gestures, it’s the consistent little things he does day in and day out that made me realize he was my soulmate and I could never let him go.”
Anthony: “Agatha and I crossed paths multiple times in life, and I will never forget seeing her at one of my buddy’s New Year’s Eve parties before we started dating. Agatha came with some other guy, and I remember thinking to myself that I would love to be with a girl like her. Ironically, months later, we ended up dating. Some of my happiest memories are with Agatha. We got to travel the world together and had similar interests and hobbies that allowed our love to flourish. When Agatha changed careers, she had to travel for training for several weeks. The distance made the heart grow fonder, and I just knew I needed Agatha to be in my life as my forever soulmate. I traveled to Florida while she was there for training and proposed to my best friend.”
The Proposal
Agatha was training for a new job in Florida, and after several months of traveling for work, Anthony flew in to be with her for her 30th birthday. With a plan in mind, he asked Agatha’s parents for permission to marry her before even getting on the plane. His proposal was thoughtfully planned out, despite some comical hiccups. After wandering around the beautiful gardens, Anthony tried to set up the tripod to take pictures, only to realize it wasn’t tall enough. Finally, he enlisted the help of a very nervous teenager, who graciously documented the moment. Anthony got down on one knee, opened the ring box, and stared at Agatha—so nervous that he forgot to ask her to marry him! Agatha, of course, said yes, and they shared a beautiful moment before calling all their loved ones to share the exciting news. Their evening continued with a romantic ocean-front dinner, but the night had a fiery twist—fire alarms went off eight times overnight at Agatha’s hotel due to another guest’s mishap, leading to a full evacuation. Now, they like to say their love is on fire!
A Princess’s Dream
When it came to finding the perfect dress, Agatha knew she wanted to feel like a princess while keeping an elegant touch. After trying on about 12 dresses, she found “the one”—a dress that was eight sizes too big, yet she couldn’t stop touching it or looking at herself in the mirror. The final touch was a cathedral-length veil with pearls that sealed the deal.
A Fairytale Wedding
Agatha and Anthony’s wedding was a true fairytale, filled with elegance, romance, and a touch of whimsy. The theme was pink, gold, and candles—a literal dream come true. But as with all weddings, things didn’t go exactly as planned. The hairstylist arrived 45 minutes late, a vendor didn’t show up, the expressway closed down, causing guests to drive 2.5 hours to the church, cicadas buzzed around them all day, the honeymoon suite got double booked, and the weather was less than ideal. Despite these challenges, none of it mattered. The couple was surrounded by so much love and support from the most important people in their lives. They danced the entire night and continued the celebration into Sunday, not wanting the magic to end.
A Moment of Peace
In keeping with Polish tradition, Agatha and Anthony did a first look at their home. This moment was particularly special for Agatha, who was an anxious wreck beforehand. Seeing and touching Anthony gave her a sense of peace, calming her nerves before the big day.
Advice for Future Brides
Agatha and Anthony’s advice for future brides is simple: “Definitely meet your team beforehand; our engagement photo shoot made us so comfortable around you on our actual wedding day! Just do whatever feels right! True happiness will be apparent in photos. Let the little things go—who cares if you don’t agree on every little detail? Pick your battles, share the decision-making, and remember that you have the same goal in mind—to have a beautiful and memorable wedding day!”
Looking Ahead
As they embark on their new journey together, Agatha and Anthony are looking forward to their honeymoon in Switzerland. They love anything outdoors and active, so they’ll spend nearly two weeks hiking in the beautiful mountains, paragliding, biking, and trying new foods. Agatha joked that she is looking forward to married life and “Grabbing two samples at Costco and saying, ‘It’s for my husband!’”
