This refined, yet relaxing wedding at CD & Me in Frankfort, Illinois was a dream come true for our sweet couple.
When we first met Kaitlyn and Matthew, we could see straight away the special bond these two shared. They were so in-tune with each other, relaxed and just excited to be finally tying the knot! It was so lovely to see, and their big day was the perfect manifestation of their relationship. No fuss, just an honest celebration of two best friends’ love for each other, surrounded by family and friends. And at a stunning wedding venue, CD & ME! What a gorgeous place!
Today, we’re thrilled to be sharing the wedding photography of Kaitlyn and Matthew, and a few details about their day.
Summertime Romance
Kaitlyn Schouten and Matthew Marcordes met back in 2015 at a friend’s BBQ party. Both were just starting new things in their lives at the time. Kaitlyn was fresh out of nursing school, and Matthew had just begun a new union job, so they were both already flushed with the excitement of fresh adventures.
After meeting for the first time, they both knew they had to see each other again. After a few late summer nights talking about baseball, movies and food, Kaitlyn finally asked for Matt’s number. The rest is history, as they say!
Love, Trust & Gross Stuff
We thought we’d leave this part for our bride Kaitlyn to explain. “Matt always made it clear that I was his number one. With him, I finally felt like the love I had for someone else was reciprocated. We trust each other, and can literally tell each other anything, even the gross stuff! He’s my best friend, & I’m his. We love food, nights in/nights out, and we simply can’t wait to begin the rest of our lives together.“
The Perfect Gown
Kaitlyn opted for a stunning ivory/nude Allure Bridal gown for her big day. A gorgeous wedding dress that absolutely fitted her style of ‘something both classic/elegant, but also a little sexy‘. It’s detachable lace off-the-shoulder sleeves gifted a feminine feel, while the crêpe train and delicate flowers offered a timeless look. To bring the ‘sexy back’, our bride had that chic illusion plunging neck line, and exposed boning. A beautiful bridal gown that looked as if it was designed with her in mind.
First Look
You know we’re fans of a first look, and this one from Kaitlyn and Matthew was just so adorable! It took place in the garden of their family’s house, with our groom waiting patiently in the middle of the grass. Thankfully he didn’t have to wait long, and soon Kaitlyn was gliding into the garden via the white picket fence gate, and stepping towards him. Both their faces were a picture when they finally saw each other. Neither one could hold back the tears. A special moment.
A Beautiful Ceremony
Our couple tied the knot under a pergola, within the gorgeous grounds of CD & ME. A place that’s blessed with stunning gardens, cascading waterfalls and countless adorable spots for portraits. It was the ideal setting for these two to exchange their vows, and the moment was priceless. Kaitlyn and Matthew looked so relaxed with all the smiles, laughter and happy tears.
A Stunning Venue
For Kaitlyn and Matthew, their focus was always each other. And their wedding needed to reflect that. A place with little fuss. This is why they chose to have their relaxing wedding at CD & Me. “The place is gorgeous and stands on its own. So I didn’t need to do a lot to make it beautiful on the day. Petals and Bloom did all of our flowers and centerpieces, and Kristin did such a beautiful job. But mostly, all I cared about was Matt & I though haha“, shared Kaitlyn. That’s precisely what weddings are about! No problem with that!
