These lovebirds exchanged their vows up on the rooftop in a chic and intimate wedding at Loft Lucia, Chicago on a bright sunny day.
There’s something next level (literally) about a rooftop wedding. It feels luxe. Exclusive. Like you’re a part of the city, and one with its skyline. In Chicago, the skyline is something else. We’re blessed with a beautiful cityscape full of architecturally interesting skyscrapers, towering apartment blocks and eclectic old industrial buildings. It is a scene, and a city, our couple, Allie and Sean, were keen to celebrate on their big day. This is why they chose the effortlessly chic Loft Lucia as their wedding venue. A wonderfully luxurious, multi-layered space that feels warm and inviting.
Allie and Sean are a pair of sweethearts. Two best friends, who fell in love over a couple of craft beers many moons ago, and haven’t looked back since. We were so honored to be invited to capture their chic and intimate wedding at Loft Lucia, Chicago.

Not Your Typical Gown
Not every bride dreams of walking down the aisle wearing a long, flowing dress. It may be the classic style, but it’s just not right for some. For Allie, she loved the dress she found at Brizan Couture in Naperville, but something about it just wasn’t right. So she worked with the team there, and together they created a style that felt more, Allie.
The skirt was chopped to create a tea-length silhouette, and straps were added to the corset top to add extra interest to her gown. The result was a fabulously fun, and different take on traditional bridal style. A look that also suited the chic, and modern wedding day setting just perfectly.
Iconic First Look Moment
You could see the nerves on the face of Sean as he waited patiently to see his bride for the first time that day. Standing outside the iconic Trivoli Tavern, with a smile on his face, thinking about how his bride might look. Thankfully, he didn’t have to wait long. Soon Allie was right behind him, and the pair finally got to see each other. You could see just how in awe Sean was by his bride. A very sweet first look moment.
Party Time
What better way to get the party started, than to sink a couple of cold beverages on the way to the wedding! That is just what Allie and Sean’s wedding party did during their ride on ‘The Colorado’, a classic old trolley bus from Premier Trolley. It was stunning inside, with its all wooden interiors, brass detailing and luxury leather seating.
But the gang couldn’t stay on the bus forever, soon it was time to hop off, and go get these two lovebirds hitched!
Chic Touches
The rooftop event space at Loft Lucia is an already stunning spot to tie the knot. In between the clean, industrial buildings that surround the roof area, there are endless views of the Chicago cityscape. It gives the space a very open feel, especially during a day as bright and pretty as Allie and Sean had for their wedding.
Our couple decorated the roof tastefully, bringing in a Pampas decorated arch to backdrop their vows. While also accenting the aisle with the same dry grass. The overall look was effortlessly chic, and served as the perfect setting for their intimate, loving ceremony.
Let the Celebrations Begin
Following the vows, our couple, and their party, made their way downstairs to the reception space. A room full of statement pampas and rose centerpieces, string lights, and accents of white and bronze. Which all mixed sophisticatedly with the exposed brick surrounds of the Loft Lucia wedding venue.
The couple danced, toasted and laughed the night away with their loved ones. All of whom were overjoyed to be celebrating the nuptials of their dear friends. It was a wonderful evening, one we felt blessed to be a part of.
