A classy, coastal reception in Florida full of love and laughter
For one weekend, our dedicated team of wedding photographers swapped the mean streets of Chicago for the palm trees and clear blue skies of Florida, shooting the big day of Sarah and Tony. This charming couple may have met at Western Illinois University, but they couldn’t imagine marrying anywhere else other than the Sunshine State.
A Father Daughter First Look Full of Emotion
The wedding ceremony and reception took place at the elegant Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. A place that feels relaxed, serene, and effortlessly sophisticated. The dream backdrop to a wedding. And their grounds gifted us some really picturesque scenes for both portraits and first look shots. Sarah’s first look with her dad was particularly special. That big guy couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw his daughter in her gown for the first time, and we were so glad to be able to capture that pure emotion.
Classy yet Carefree Vibes
The general vibe of the wedding was a relaxed celebration of love. And the warm, coastal, Florida setting really helped everyone get in that casual, yet classy mood. For the ceremony, none of the boys wore ties, including the groom, and this really helped to create a carefree, celebratory feeling. Having shots during the ceremony with their officiant certainly encouraged this too!
Nothing But Blue Skies
Following the ceremony, we embraced the sunny skies again and guided our couple through their portraits. They were naturals on camera, and together we were able to capture some breathtaking shots, all backdropped by the refined surroundings of the Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club gardens. The marina also offered us a wonderfully luxurious place to shoot our couple, with nothing but multi-million dollar boats and blue skies in the background.
An Unexpected Twist on your Average Centerpiece
The ballroom at the yacht club was the perfect place for these two to celebrate their nuptials. A grand, and chic space that looked even more refined after Sarah and Tony had put their stylish spin on it. Filling the room with crisp white flowers, and tropical greenery. There was even an unexpected twist on the traditional wedding cake! With a wheel of cheese taking center stage, instead of three tiers of sponge! And speaking of stages, Sarah’s dad won our hearts all over again during the father daughter dance. The pair of them were having the time of their lives on that dance floor, feeling every emotion from their chosen song.
It was a wedding full of heart, humor, and a whole lot of celebrating. And we feel privileged to have been able to capture it.
