Because this gorgeous spot is blessed with the most captivating views, and so much space to explore! The dream location for a Chicago wedding photographer like me, and the perfect place to say ‘I do’ for our couple, Andrea and Doug.
A Couple Who Know How to Laugh Together
When agreeing to photograph someone’s wedding, we always like to get to know our couple’s before the big day. That way they feel at ease with us, and we understand them better, which in turn helps us get the very best out of them. During our first meet with Andrea and Doug, our major takeaway was how much these two loved to laugh! They were so in-tune with each other, riffing off one another, and Doug in particular really knows how to make Andrea giggle. It’s an infectious part of their personality, and it helped all of us to get along so quickly.
The Thrill of the Wedding Morning Prep
The whole of Andrea and Doug’s wedding took place at the Fishermen’s Inn, with the bride and groom both choosing this elegant Elburn venue to also get ready in. We joined the couple and their wedding party’s during their morning preparations, and could immediately sense the nervous excitement in the air. Both of them were chatty, and having fun with their friends, stopping only briefly to read letters written to one another. A sweet moment that certainly reminded the two of them why they were there.
A Light-hearted yet Sentimental Wedding Ceremony at the Fishermen’s Inn
Before the ceremony, Andrea and Doug decided to do a first look shot together, which was a really fun moment. Tender, sweet, and full of laughs! Oh, and they shared a shot of something boozy and courage building too! The ceremony itself was so exquisitely put together, with white petals lining the aisle, and blooming bouquets decorating the chairs and covering their arbor. Thoughtful touches made the already stunning space at the Fishermen’s Inn wedding venue, even more special. The pair exchanged their vows with a sweet, and light-hearted ceremony that reflected Andrea and Doug just perfectly.
20 Acres of Delightful Gardens to Explore
Now married, Andrea and Doug were almost free to celebrate, but not before we captured some beautiful portraits of them together. The grounds of the Fishermen’s Inn lends itself so charmingly to outdoor wedding photography, with so many pretty backdrops for our couple to frame themselves against. As a team, we nearly explored their full 20 acres of gardens, while also making sure to embrace the dramatic views of the seven spring fed ponds. It is a captivating place and one that Andrea and Doug really managed to make their own.
A Fun-filled Reception Surrounded by Loved Ones
Portraits in the bag, it was time to party! And Andrea and Doug’s gang knew just how to do that! They were all so chilled, yet so lively, and passionately took part in all the cute little traditions our couple had planned. While also making good use of the dance floor! The wedding reception space at the Fishermen’s Inn was decorated just as handsomely as the rest of the day had been. With a really relaxed take on refinement evident throughout. And again, our couple looked completely at ease within the space, soaking up every bit of their special day, surrounded by loved ones.
