Elegant Polish Wedding at DiNolfo’s Banquets
Brittney and Marcin were married on a beautiful fall day surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their celebration was a joyous blend of customary traditions and new unique ideas. There were special blessings by the parents, copious amounts of food, and personalized bouquets for each bridesmaid. The day could not have been more perfect for the couple as they started their journey into marital bliss. Their wedding at DiNolfo’s Banquets was certainly enjoyed by all.
A Proposal in the Kitchen
Brittney & Marcin have been together for over 9 years, following a serendipitous meeting via mutual friends. This first connection soon turned to romance, and together they fanned the romantic flames until it turned into a rock-solid relationship.
Eager to continue the progression of their union, the pair decided to move in together, as they had been dating for some time. It was on move-in day that Marcin decided to pop the question to Brittney. Right there in the kitchen, surrounded by boxes, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Once Brittney had realized he wasn’t joking, she, of course, said yes! And they started planning the next stage in their lives together.
Mother Knows Best
Every bride has a different experience when trying on wedding dresses, and no one way is the correct way. For Brittney, she walked into the bridal salon with a clear idea of the type of gown she wanted. After describing it to the stylist, she tried on every dress they had in the store that matched it. Every single one, without finding ‘the one’.
Finally, when Brittney was close to giving up hope, her mom showed a picture to their stylist, and she found it. As they say, Mother knows best.
A Wedding Team that Turned Vision into Reality
As you can see from the photography, the wedding of Brittney & Marcin was a very elegant affair. The style was pulled together by our bride, alongside her passionate wedding coordinator. Chicago Weddings and Events really hit it out of the park when it came to exceeding our brides’ expectations.
The coordinators listened to all the decor ideas, and looked over every inspiration Brittney had gathered. She created a reception design at DiNolfo’s Banquets that blew us all away. “I purchased all the decor and designed everything myself, but they turned that vision into reality. I told them upfront if they didn’t like something, that they can change it.”, shared Brittney. Alongside the coordinator, the flower vendor was also open to the idea of being super creative. And as our bride didn’t have any specific needs or wants, she was given free-range to create blooming masterpieces throughout the reception space.
The Last Thing You Want is a Boring Wedding
For Brittney & Marcin, they wanted their loved ones to have the best time on their wedding day. The last thing they wanted was for anyone to walk away thinking their celebration was dull. “I was most fearful of everyone not having a good time. A boring wedding was my worst nightmare. I am so glad we did what we could to make the night enjoyable for everyone”, said Brittney.
As a couple with some Polish roots, they also wanted their reception to live up to the wild festivities weddings in Poland are famous for. They had nothing to worry about, everyone had a blast! Dancing, games, and sweet speeches kept all of their guests amused. The kids made sure there was always someone on the dance floor!
‘Don’t Stress Over Other People’s Opinions’
We always ask our couples to share their advice on how they pulled off their big day successfully Because there’s no better way for engaged couples to truly know the do’s and don’t of wedding planning. Brittney’s advice was very sage and rang true with so many couples we have photographed over the years. She said, “Don’t stress over others’ opinions. If you spend too much time trying to make everyone happy, you forget to make yourself happy.” It’s such good advice because this is your wedding, and if you don’t enjoy the moment, it’ll be gone. Plan your big day, and embrace your celebration.
Oh, and she said make tons of spreadsheets! This is also true!
