Registered on the National Trust for Historic Preservation and originally built as a wedding present from Potter Palmer to his bride Bertha Honore’, The Palmer House Hilton was only initially open for 13 days before it succumbed to the Great Chicago Fire. However, like any good love story, The Palmer House has endured going through several rebuilds since 1871, including a recent multi-million dollar renovation which marries this historic venue with modern amenities giving it a hip vibe.
Getting ready was never as easy as it is in one of the ten Hospitality Suites, with their contemporary style and open floor plans; they perfectly set the tone for a fun, intimate gathering. Large windows and tons of ambient light allow Lauren Ashley Studios photo & video teams to capture all those moments of connection as the couple gets ready for their big day surrounded by their closest friends and family. Stately and stunning rooms provide the perfect canvas to help capture all the little details you’ve spent months planning.
Couples can choose from five different ballrooms to host their ceremony or reception. The Grand Ballroom, with its numerous crystal chandeliers that hang from soaring ceilings and a balcony that encircles the large dance floor below, brings your family and friends together in elegant romance. Ornate décor, and a meticulously laid out floor plan by the top tier wedding planners at The Palmer House, The Grand Ballroom lives up to its name. There are so many photo ops here it makes our little photographer hearts burst!
The famous Empire Room, complete with crown and stage, is a unique ceremony spot. Gorgeous chandeliers, sweeping drapes, and wall sconces’ warm the room creating an intimate feeling within opulent surroundings. Adjourn for a catered cocktail hour featuring custom menu options, and then guests can reconvene in the Empire Room for the reception where a large dance floor becomes the focus of the room and live bands often take up the stage. Add to these choices the Honore’ Ballroom, or the Red Lacquer Room; each is a different venue within The Palmer House offering discerning décor which is sure to impress everyone.
The Grand Lobby at the Palmer House is nothing short of magnificent. With a ceiling that depicts imagery of 21 Greek Mythology figures, mixed with chandelier style wall lighting, a sweeping staircase, and a small balcony, it’s an ideal location for a first look or formal portraits. Almost every room or hallways provides a decadent backdrop for wedding portraiture making it easy for us to be creative in creating a wedding album that reflects the joy of your day set in such a regally romantic setting. Set in downtown Chicago, The Palmer House Hotel provides two diverse environments for couples.
