I built the front end of this multi-car inventory search application for Volkswagen. The team made use of Javascript MVC for this project, among other fantastic frameworks. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained about 5 years of development experience crammed into 6 months after working on this massive project!

I was really excited to be asked to develop the front end for this VW Facebook. After liking the 2012 Beetle facebook page, users can then select one of their photos, or take a new one, and then a live billboard on Times Square will display their photo and say "[so-and-so] likes this". The app then posts a snapshot of that billboard with the user's photo to their wall.

I've posted my own pic 3 times, so I can now say I've been on a billboard in Times Square :)

Recently I was presented with a situation that caused me to step back and look at my approach as a web developer. While conducting my research for a personal side project* I was accused (by a friend) of being a novice because of my exploratory nature and honesty about time constraints in the beginning stages.
So I’ve been wondering what all this talk about “we don’t have to learn HTML5 for another 10 years” is really all about, and upon finding out that it won’t be ‘finalized’ until 2022 (chuckle) my question was answered.
